Ok, so you found boat that you like and booked it, you know that you need skipper and you booked him. What about dealing whit all that annoying housekeeping jobs on boat? Are you sure that you want to make them yourself? If you want to have a complete vacation, you should also take a hostess or a cook on the boat.
Hostess job is to provide services to the guests. She will discuss with guests what they prefer to eat and their eating habits. She prepares meals and keeps boat interior clean and tidy. She will wake up first on boat and prepare breakfast and coffee for the crew. She also makes lunch on board if there is no chef on board. She is not obligated to make dinners on board. After every meal she cleans the dishes and she can even make you a little snack during sailing or a drink that you prefer.
Usually, if necessary, she is also helping skipper during docking or anchoring of the boat. You will also of course need to provide cabin for her and cover her food costs if you don’t eat together in the evenings.
Hostess’ fee is between 120 and 150 euros per day, and she deserves it because housekeeping and cooking for lots of people on the boat is not an easy job.
